I am a Hoosier at heart who has moved to the heart of Texas with my husband Matthew, our cats Rowdy & Mosby and our dogs Lucy & Wrigley. Matthew is a Chief Flight instructor at a flight school in Austin and I care for my mother full time and write random thoughts and posts in between. I started writing this blog as a way to keep people back home updated on our lives here in Texas, and has turned into a way to relax, think and to make others laugh!

  1. Hello, my name is GF, and I am a 31-year old toddler tantrum not wanting to wake up adult.

*everyone groggily says hello gf as they stare into their coffee cups because who on earth made this recovery meeting at 7am?!*

I’m not as bad as you haha but I still struggle in the mornings. My job has expanded from evening shifts to also include cooking breakfast for 4 teenage girls, so I have to be up every. Single. Morning. Even on my days off! But I’m also one of those people who is wide awake once I hear my alarm. I can’t fall back asleep. I will lay in bed and tell myself “5 more breaths” before opening my eyes… but I’m still up.

So my routine: up, bathroom, wig, start coffee, make breakfast for all of us and pack up school lunches, get coffee and eat breakfast while doing (in this order) clear twitter and Pinterest notifications, instagram scrolling, blog comments, blog emails, twitter news feed scrolling, get dressed, clean up kitchen, write blog post, rest of my day.

  2. Wake up after first alarm (always), potty, take the dogs out, shower, brush teeth, get tea (cold), start husband’s kettle for his tea, do make up, do hair, get dressed, snuggle my pups, figure out dinner (do I need to thaw meat or throw something in the crock pot?) out the door. I’m kind of a morning person (though not enough of one to work out in the AM I’ve found out…) so I like to take my time getting ready. I typically wake up about 1.5 hours before I need to leave, so I don’t feel rushed.
